Brasserie Zédel
Rex Restaurant Associates will open Brasserie Zédel in early Summer 2012. Zédel is intended to be a true embodiment of the Parisian Brasserie within the historic setting of one of Europe’s finest Art Deco interiors. With its entrance on Sherwood Street, in addition to the Brasserie there will be the Bar Américain and The Crazy Coqs Bar and Cabaret, as well as the Zinc Café on street level. The Brasserie will be open throughout the day till late, offering high quality, value-for-money meals, or simply coffees and snacks. Once part of the Regent Palace Hotel, the 1930s Oliver Bernard design of the rooms has been painstakingly restored by the Crown Estate as part of its Quadrant 3 development, which has transformed the building into Europe's most sustainable.
Sloane Square
RexRA has agreed a lease with The Cadogan Estate to run a restaurant at 50-52 Sloane Square, the site of the former Oriel Restaurant. Our plan is to bring to Chelsea the Wolseley style and format of the all-day 'grand cafe' but tailored to the neighbourhood in an even more accessible way.
The 6,000 sq ft restaurant is due to open early Autumn 2012.
The Beaumont
Working with property group Grosvenor, Corbin and King are developing this Art Deco style building into a luxury, bespoke hotel. Built as a garage, the building was designed by Wimperis & Simpson in 1926 and overlooks Brown Hart Gardens in the heart of Mayfair. The hotel will have 73 bedrooms & suites; public areas include a restaurant and lobby bar/salon; a private dining/meeting room and a small spa. The plans retain as much as possible of the existing building, including the principal elevations. A leading British artist has been commissioned to create a significant piece of public art. The hotel is due to open in 2014.
